One of the area’s most popular restaurants and sweet spot stops that closed at the end of 2022, will re-open under a new name a little more than a month later.

 

According to a social media post from the Par Mar Convenience Store chain, Buckhannon will soon see The Donut Spot opening. In fact, the opening date is scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 3.

 

It will be in the location of the former Donut Shop site. The business will be situation at 51 North Locus Street in Buckhannon.

 

This is the post from Par Mar, which is based out of Marietta, Ohio, and has a strong presence in West Virginia, including Buckhannon.

 

“The signs are going up and we will be open soon!  We are very excited about the latest Par Mar venture. We are taking over the former Donut Shop in Buckhannon WV and rebranding it as The Donut Spot. Same great food in the same great location in one of West Virginia’s great small towns!  We will be open for business this Friday!!!”

 

The former business was known for its crumbled pepperoni in its pepperoni rolls, a vast array of donuts, and plenty of other food items. Par Mar has said in the past they do not plan to make significant changes to the way things have operated in the past, including keeping open the popular drive-through option.
