Think ice cream is just for summertime? Think again.

 

Our Back Porch Ice Cream and More in Mannington has been serving it up year-round for three years.

 

"We make our own ice cream. We freeze it and make it fresh daily," said owner Kimberly McCullough.

 

McCullough's father, Edgar Garlow, opened up shop in April 2014. They focused, back then, just on frozen treats.

 

"We have vanilla, chocolate and twist in the soft serve and we also offer a full range of hand dip. The hand dip ice cream would probably be our butter pecan and cotton candy that people love," McCullough said.

 

Now, they have expanded their menu to include breakfast items, specialty coffees and homemade donuts.

 

Just two months ago, they opened an eat-in area for hot summer days and now, cold days too.4
