For those visiting Bridgeport who have already sampled the city's fare or those who are residents of the city and beyond looking for a trip for a new culinary experience, here's the latest edition of WBOY's Restaurant Road Trip. And this one is just up the road on Interstate 79 north.

FROM WBOY

An already successful restaurant owner in Monongalia County has decided to give another genre a try in Morgantown. And so far, it’s been a hit.

Raj Sundaram and his wife opened the Saigon Pho Vietnamese Kitchen in Morgantown just a few months ago. Sundaram said he’s been carrying the idea in his head for five years now.

Pho Vietnamese specializes on keeping the food as authentic as possible.  From noodle soup to the rice that is served, Sundaram says the experience is as close to Vietnamese style food that you can get in the area.

With Vietnam once being a French colony, there are also hints of food there. The influence is found in several items, including the broth for some of the restaurant’s most popular foods, including the beef broth.

Sundaram said the restaurant is good for those with dietary restrictions. Most of the foods are based in the broth, which he says contains no oil and that none of the food is stir fried and rice noodles that are gluten free.

For those in a rush to get their food, they don’t have to wait for a waiter or waitress for takeout. There is also a kiosk available.
