Thanks to some mid-March snow, the Snowhose Mountain Resort, one of West Virginia's most heavily utilized tourism destinations, will have its season extended.

The Pocahontas County resort announce due to snowfall that could end up in the one-foot range, the ski season will not end as it was expected to March 26. Instead, officials have announced the season will be extended through Sunday, April 2.

A press release sent out Tuesday, March 14, said that the "recent shot of winter weather has provided the mountain with over a foot of natural snow as well as extended periods of cold, which has allowed the resort to use its state-of-the-art snowmaking system to beef up its snowpack."
