The next business to open its doors at Bridgeport is getting closer to seeing its first customers, one of the owners said Wednesday.

According to Jack Spatafore, the satellite office of Bridgeport Physical Therapy, is moving ahead on the construction front. In fact, it could be open in the very near future.

“I say we’re about a month away,” said Spatafore.

For those wondering about the work being done in in Retail Village Building 2 at White Oaks, which is the structure directly across from Retail Building 1 that houses Bonnie Belle’s, Cody’s, McFly Outdoors, The Oaks Salon, Hermosilla’s Deli and Rominger Dental, they should know now. Earlier this week, the first of two signs went up on the new business.

“It was actually pretty exciting to get that sign out front. I think we you see the name you know you’re getting close,” said Spatafore. “We’re going to have the same sign on the back of the building that will be visible along Jerry Dove drive for those utilizing that road including those going to the hospital and the FBI. It’s going to be really good exposure.”

Spatafore said work is also continuing on the inside. He said dry wall work is taking place and decisions are being fine-tuned on the interior pieces that will go into place. On Wednesday Spatafore met with Ron Stanley, the managing member of High Tech Corridor Development that handles affairs for White Oaks, to iron out some of the final details.

“I felt good coming out of that. Everything seems to be heading in the right direction,” said Spatafore.

The new site will cover about 2,000 square feet. The current Bridgeport Physical Therapy building, which is located beside Rite Aid on Main Street, consists of 8,000 square feet and will continue to offer the same services it has for years.

Most, but not all, of the same services will be offered on a smaller scale at the new location. For things like aquatic therapy individuals will exclusively utilize the downtown location. Co-Owner Mike Martin will spend the bulk of his time at the existing facility.
