Day, Time for Indians' Class AA First Round Playoff Game Announced; Contest Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the WVSSAC officially released the first round matchup for the Class AA and the Class A and Class AAA high school football playoffs that will begin this coming Friday and Saturday. Today, the WVSSAC revealed the day and times for those games.
 
Bridgeport, the owner of a 9-1 record and the No. 3 seed in Class AA, will battle 7-3 and No. 14 Weir. As the visiting team, the Red Riders have chosen to play the Indians at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Wayne Jamison Field.
 
The visiting team in all three classes throughout the fiirst three rounds of the postseason gets to select the day and time. The three choices include Friday at 7:30 p.m., and either 1:30 p.m  or 7:30  p.m on Saturday. The semifinal round, which is the day after Thanksgiving, also includes the choice of a 1:30 p.m. Friday contest.
 
If Bridgeport topples Weir, it will face the winner of the Winfield game with James Monroe in the second round. That game, if BHS wins this Friday, would also be at Wayne Jamison Field.
 
The No. 11 Generals stand at 7-3. The No. 6 Mavericks are 8-2.
 
MetroNews also reporting No. 16 Robert C. Byrd will visit No. 1 Mingo Central at 1:30 p.m. Saturday as well. Also in Class AA, they have No. 13 Keyser visiting No. 4 Fairmont Senior Friday at 7:30 p.m.; No. 10 Philip Barbour will play at No. 7 Point Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and No. 8 Liberty will host No. 9 Nicholas County at 7:30  p.m. Friday.
