New Bridgeport Promotional Video Features Draws to City's Main Street Corridor, Downtown Area

For many outside of Bridgeport, the association with the downtown corridor is one of a traffic route or gets attention during the holiday season and on the city’s annual Light-Up Night. For many in the city and located in the downtown, they know what Greater Bridgeport Conventions and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Michelle Duez knows.

“We realize we have a little gem and we knew we needed a way to showcase it,” said Duez.

Now, the GBCVB does. And it got started with the assistance of a downtown business.

“Amanda Leaseburg from the Starving Artist contacted me recently. One of her acquaintances is a videographer who was in town from Myrtle Beach that does tourism videos for a living and we talked about doing one for Bridgeport and now it’s finished.”

What is finished is a promotional video for the downtown. If it’s something that may draw a visitor to the city’s Main Street/downtown corridor there’s a chance it’s featured in the video.

“We think this is a really nice asset for marketing the city to have this video as part of our repertoire,” said Duez.

The businesses featured include dining, shopping and relaxation types of entities. Those featured actually are co-op partners with the GBCVB in cost sharing of the promotion of the video.

“This captures what visitors may enjoy in downtown Bridgeport,” said Duez. “The really great thing about this is getting everyone wanting to work together for a common good. This is an exceptionally good visual way to showcase Bridgeport’s downtown.”
