A young girl involved in a two-vehicle accident in Bridgeport Tuesday morning was transported for medical treatment, according to Fire Chief Phil Hart.

Hart said the Bridgeport Fire Department took the female in question to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He added that the injuries were not life threatening.

“The transport was more precautionary than anything,” said Hart.

The accident took place shortly after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. And it took place in an area that has seen more than its share of wrecks through the years.

The accident took place at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and the Bridgeport Main Street McDonald’s.

“A car was pulling out and another car was driving east on Route 50 when the accident took place,” said Hart, who had no further information regarding the wreck.

Hart did say that the Bridgeport Police were handling the investigation.

A driver was with the youngster in one vehicle, while Hart said he believed the other vehicle had just one driver. Neither were transported.

Traffic was only briefly an issue.

Bridgeport Police and Fire handled traffic, and things were back to a regular pattern at 8 a.m.
