BHS Alum Gallagher's National TV Debut Tonight as Host of "Gallery of Guns" on The Sportsman Channel

It’s not as if Bridgeport native Aaron Gallagher doesn’t have a pretty full plate most of the time. After all, the 2003 Bridgeport High School graduate records and performs music, has opened for acts such as Phil Vassar, occasionally travels to Africa for church work and manages to find time for a full-time job in between.

For those thinking there’s not much more room left for Gallagher to add to his “to do” list, they would be wrong. And starting tonight at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) those individuals – and anyone else for that matter – can find out by turning into the The Sportsman Channel at 9:30 p.m. for the first episode of season six of “Gallery of Guns.”

Gallagher will be on the air for the first time with co-host Anne-Marie Rhodes. The duo will be providing consumers a hands-on look at guns and accessories from leading manufacturers in the industry.

“I’m pretty excited,” said Gallagher. “There will be 13 episodes this season and we’ve already filmed them all.”

The show will run every Monday for the next 13 weeks. Following that, Gallagher said the channel will start the series over and repeat them for 13 more weeks. Also, there will be several re-airings of the shows during the week that they run.

While this is a new venture for Gallagher, it’s not his first foray into television. He’s done commercial work for Pepsi, NASCAR and the Biltmore Resort.

“Shooting a television show is a little bit different,” said Gallagher. “ … We did this over five weeks and you’re either in the studio or out on the (shooting) range to get the segments needed for each episode.”

Gallagher said each episode will have between four and five segments. He said it may focus on various firearms, interviews with experts from gun companies and event interaction with world champion shooters.

“The purpose of the show is to educate people about different firearms and their features. You don’t have to own a gun or be a fan of guns to enjoy the show,” said Gallagher of the shows, that will last one half hour

While Gallagher loves the television work and his other side efforts, he still has his day job. He’s currently in sales for Gerstel, which is a laboratory robotics company.

“I stay really busy with the job and what’s great about it is that a sales job provides me with a lot of flexibility to find the time to do the shows,” said Gallagher. “I did have to take vacation, but the rest of the time that was needed was done by shooting on the weekend. The great thing is that I love my job so much that when I took the vacation time I didn’t feel like I was losing out on going someplace.”

Gallagher said he tries to get back to Bridgeport as often as his schedule will allow visiting with family. He said he will be back in town during the July 4 holiday for his father’s (Rick) family reunion.

Check with your local cable provider to see if they offer The Sportsman Channel. Gallagher said it is offered on Direct TV in the Bridgeport market.
