A Look at This Year's Bridgeport High School Football Team's Pre-Game Video, "Welcome to Title Town"

Welcome to Title Town.

After three straight championships in football, and so many more in other sports during the last several years, the ending to the introduction video for this year’s Bridgeport High School football team seems more than just a bit appropriate. And that’s how Luke Nesler, the co-founder of impakt Marketing in Morgantown capped things in this year’s video that focuses on the history and features the present of Indians football.

The video, done by Nesler, is sponsored by the North Central West Virginia Airport. It is a product of Connect-Bridgeport and the Greater Bridgeport Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“This year’s video was specifically themed around the tradition and around the winning and you want to get the feel from it that the tradition creates a culture of winning,” said Nesler, a 2007 BHS graduated who played three years of varsity football for former Coach Bruce Carey. “You’ve had success with Wayne Jamison, Bruce Carey and now with Josh Nicewarner, and even prior to all of them.

“A lot of people realize just how many championships the program has won, but not everyone, including visitors to the games that will watch this video,” Nesler continued. “I wanted to do my best to showcase the best of the past and have a subtle intro into today that goes into an in-your-face hint that this team is more than capable of carrying on that winning tradition.”

Nesler has been in the marketing and branding business, which includes plenty of video of work, for several years now. In fact, his company grown to the point that he has his own film department that handles all of the video work now. There has been, in the last two years, a couple of notable exceptions.

“I don’t touch a camera or get involved with directing and editing anymore. The only time I have been involved this year is with this video. I worked with (Bridgeport’s) Patrick Martin who shot it and I edited it,” said Nesler. “The last time I did work of that nature was the video for last year’s intro. I think it tells me that Bridgeport football means a lot to. It’s something I’m very romantic about and I don’t anyone to touch it other than myself.”

The video will debut on the big screen at Wayne Jamison Field this evening prior to kickoff between Bridgeport and Lewis County. Nesler said the video work is made easier thank to WDTV Channel 5.

“They always help in a big way. I want to give a special thanks to (General Manager) Tim DeFazio and (Sports Director) Joe Brocato,” said Nesler.
