A mid-afternoon, two-vehicle accident on Jerry Dove Drive resulted in the three individuals from one of the vehicles involved needing to be transported for medical care, according to Bridgeport Fire Chief Phil Hart.

The accident took place at the Jerry Dove Drive, or State Route 279, intersection with the entrance to United Hospital Center. The accident was called into the Harrison County 911 center at 2:46 p.m.

Upon arrival, Bridgeport Fire dealt with gray compact Ford and a gray Chevrolet Tahoe. The bulk of the damage was to the rear of the four-door Ford vehicle.

Hart said that three patients from the Ford were transported to nearby United Hospital Center for medical treatment. Two females and a male were transported.

The driver of the Chevrolet refused transport, Hart said. He said the injuries were not life threatening. Bridgeport and Anmoore EMS transported the patients the short distance to the medical facility.

The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation.
