Afternoon Wreck along Meadowbrook Road Leaves Pair of Vehicles Incapacitated, Traffic Backed Up

A two-vehicle accident along Meadowbrook Road, just paste the entrance to the Meadowfill Landfill, left both needing towed from the scene during the late afternoon incident.

According to Bridgeport Police Department Deputy Chief Randy Hartley, no one was seriously injured in the accident. He said no one was transported from the scene.

While the motorists signed off on being transported, the accident was serious enough to cause headaches for those happening to be traveling on the roadway for the accident. The call came in at 4:09 p.m. to the Harrison County 911 Center.

Traffic backed up for hundreds of yards in both directions as emergency personnel tended to the scene. Only one lane of traffic could be utilized and due to several large trucks needing to maneuver through the area where the wreck took place, it was further compounding the situation before the scene could be cleared.

The two vehicles involved were a silver Ford F-150 and a silver Pontiac Sunfire. Dan Riggs Towing was called to the scene to help remove the vehicles.

The Bridgeport Police, Fire and Emergency Squad responded to the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Bridgeport Police.
