Although Not Official, it Appears Next Visit by Trump to Mountain State Could be this Coming Monday

NOTE: According to Donald Trump's Web site, his Saturday visits include a noon appearance in Spokane, Washington and a 3 p.m. visit in Lynden, Washington. There is still no official confirmation on if Trump will visit the Mountain State Monday by local officials or on his Web site.

It appears plans for a weekend visit by presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump will not take place in Bridgeport as was initially anticipated. City Clerk Andrea Kerr said city officials had talked earlier this week to government officials that speculated that Trump's next visit would be Monday.  However, that cannot be confirmed at this time.

Kerr said that only two airports in the Mountain State – Yeager in Charleston and the North Central West Virginia Airport in Bridgeport – can handle Trump’s plane. Trump is in Charleston today.

Of course, Trump could fly into another airport such as Pittsburgh and drive to a city in West Virginia. There are multiple options for a Monday visit,

“There are no specifics at this point as to if he’s coming to Bridgeport,” said Kerr.

Kerr said she had checked with businesses that operated at the NCWV Airport that had large hangars to see if they had been contacted by Trump officials about a potential visit. The first three businesses she talked with said they had not been contacted.

The fourth business at the airport has already dealt with officials involved in the Trump campaign, she said. In fact, she said they have actually been on site

“The business owner said they had been in direct contact with Trump officials that have actually visited their location about a possible visit,” said Kerr. “The owner was told that Trump officials would get back to him with a date if they were visiting and as of noon today they have not gotten back to him. That doesn’t mean they won’t, but it means that nothing is set at this moment.”

Kerr cautioned that visits by candidates are often fluid and that a visit could happen on short notice. She said in the event the city learns of a visit they will let the public know when and where.

As of now, Trump has publicly announced two other visits outside of tonight's visit to Charleston. His official Web site has him in Omaha Nebraska at 4 p.m. Friday, followed by a 7 p.m. visit to Eugene, Oregon the same day.
