For a long time, Roger Stout and his wife Dina were looking for a way to separate themselves from tobacco products. For Dina Stout, she was looking to stop smoking. For Roger Stout, the product he wanted to separate himself from was snuff.

 

“My wife, Dina, was attempting to quit smoking and things hadn’t worked before and, honestly, she struggled,” said Roger Stout. “She tried vaping (e-cigarettes), but she was given a product and basically walked away not knowing what to do. She really struggled so I started doing my homework on vaping and found a better way to do it and Dina quit smoking.

 

“It worked so well that I decided to give it a try. I had quit smoking, but was rubbing snuff,” Stout continued. “I decided to start vaping and it worked. I’ve not touched snuff since I started. When you struggle like we did and are able to quit you really believe in the product.”

 

Stout’s words are far from hollow. They so much believe in the product that they’re about to open Bridgeport’s newest business – The Vaping. The shop is a vape shop that will be situated in the State Street Plaza just off Johnson Avenue in plaza fronts 131 and 133 where there will be more than 1,000 square feet of space for the business to serve those looking for a way to stop smoking or other tobacco products, Stout said.

 

“A vape shop provides a safer alternative to smoking. We’ll have a variety of products that will allow individuals to find a way to quit smoking,” said Stout. “One thing we’re going to focus on heavily is going to be the customer service and education. We don’t just want to sell you a product and get you out the door.”

 

Stout claims their Premium E-Liquid inventory will be the largest in North Central West Virginia. Stout said they will sell the juices needed – e-liquids – for the vaping devices as well as atomizers, which convert the liquid into the fine mist that is produced. While the Stout’s won’t have their own house Juice (e-liquids), They will have their own line of box mods.

 

“The terms may seem somewhat complicated, but the device is really simple,” said Stout.

 

Meeting their planned needs also proved simple once they located the space on State Street.  The Stouts took the two office fronts and knocked down the wall between them to create one large space, which will still have a definitive dividing point with two doors.

 

“One side will be a Juice Bar, where you can sample the Premium E-liquids,” said Stout. “The other side will focus on the products we have to offer.”

 

Stout said the goal is to get individuals to stop smoking. He said their products will include products with a range of nicotine in them all the way down to vaping with zero nicotine.

 

The new business – The Vaping – hopes to do a soft opening July 15 with a grand opening August 1. The hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended weekend hours that have yet to be established.

 

“Vaping is a social thing and becomes a lifestyle,” said Stout. “We hope we can help people looking to quit smoking and other tobacco products.”

 

Stout said they will be glad to offer help for those with questions. He also encourages anyone looking to consider products that will be offered by The Vaping to contact their medical professional to help ease any concerns.

 

“By all means, we would encourage people to go to your doctor before you come to us to help put yourself at ease,” said Stout. “We’re here to sell product and to educate.”
