Although there have been no arrests made, Bridgeport Police are still following up on information as well as existing and even fresh leads on an armed robbery at White Oaks last week, Detective Gary Weaver confirmed.

“Even though we’re more than a week away, we’re still receiving fresh leads and information,” said Weaver.”

The leads are in relation to the robbery at the Huntington Bank location at White Oaks. The robbery took place July 7 at 11:54 a.m. Despite the area being secured in rapid fashion, the suspect was not apprehended and remains on the loose.

According to Huntington National Bank spokesperson Bill Eiler, the suspect is a white male, estimated to be 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a blue hoodie with a West Virginia logo, blue jeans, orange face mask with eye holes cut out and gray gloves. He was seen in a light blue sedan similar to the one pictured below, make unknown, Eiler said. What was believed to be the face mask was later recovered on Adamsville Road, which is off Saltwell Road.

Weaver said there is one thing that could provide a break. He said law enforcement is looking for a person that they believe is a potential witness to the event.

“The witness we’re looking for is a female, but we’re not sure who she is,” said Weaver. “She was in the drive through of the bank at the time of the robbery. We’re working with the bank to try to identify who the person in question is and we hope that if she did witness the event she’ll contact law enforcement. If anyone would have happened to talk with this individual we’d like for them to contact us or have her contact us.”

Weaver said individuals can call 304-842-8260. They need to ask for one of the detectives if they can help with this potential witness.
