BHS Alumna Fetty Heading to World Missions Summit in Houston; Needs Voting Help for T-Shirt Design

The last time many of you saw Hannah Fetty, she was a member of – and quiet leader – for the Bridgeport High School girls’ basketball team. Today, Fetty is a sophomore at Marshall University and is still leading – just in different ways.

Fetty, who is studying public relations and advertising in Huntington, is still leading. She’s also still competing.

The 2015 BHS alumna is currently the president of Marshal’s Chi Alpha group. The group is a campus ministry approaching 20 members this year with Fetty’s goal to grow membership one person at a time. While she’s got her long-term goal set on growth, she has a short-term goal as well.

Fetty’s short-term goal, however, is something she needs help on. The Chi Alph campus ministries, every four years, holds “The World Missions Summit.” During the event, which takes place in Houston, Texas Jan. 4 through Jan. 6, members of Chi Alph and missionaries from around the world will gather at the three-day event.

“It’s a chance to talk to missionaries and learn about their experiences. You learn about different places in the world, as well as the United States, that have needs and how you can serve to meet those needs,” said Fetty.

Fetty is going to the Summit. Bridgeport, Harrison County and all those that know her can help her to go for free.

The Summit’s Facebook page has a contest where individuals are asked to design a t-shirt. The t-shirt that receives the most Facebook likes not only is the one that will be produced and sold at the Summit, but the winner also has their admission paid for to attend. An added bonus, said Fetty, is that the winner is given 50 free t-shirt to take back to their campus to give to members of their group as well as others interested in joining the group.

“I really love designing things so it was an enjoyable thing to do,” said Fetty. “(On Monday) I was actually in fourth place and close to third. It would be great to be able to win.”

All individuals have to do to help her win is to click HERE and you should be taken to a page showing Fetty’s t-shirt design. The design shows the front and the back. If you hit “like” then it counts as a vote for Fetty.

“It would be great to win, but it’s more important to advance our motto of love in God and love in people … Everything starts with one person,” said Fetty.

And voting can start with one person too – that being you. Fetty said she appreciates any assistance her hometown can provide.

The contest ends Friday. Voting concludes at noon.

Below, Fetty, far left, is show at Rec Fest at Marshall University where clubs and other organizations gathers the first weekend of the school year for those wanting to get involved.
