Bridgeport High School Listed Among Top 5 in State by Carnegie Mellon University Web Site Rankings

Another Web site has given a high review of Bridgeport. This time, however, the ranking is for Bridgeport High School.
 
Niche.com, a Web founded in 2002 by students at Carnegie Mellon University ranks schools in K-through 12 as well as colleges to help families moving and families looking for the best educational opportunities make wise choices. And their latest rankings have Bridgeport listed as one of the best high schools in the state of West Virginia.
 
According the rankings, Bridgeport ranks fourth among 100 public schools that were listed in the state. In fact, the top four in the state according to Niche.com rankings are all from the North Central part of West Virginia.
 
University was listed first and was followed by fellow Monongalia County high school Morgantown. Marion County’s Fairmont Senior was listed as third.
 
So how does Niche.com come up with its rankings?
 
Part of the methodology is based in part by feedback from parents and students who utilize the schools. Other hard data is utilized, but the site claims that several key factors are utilized in order to eliminate one are from dominating the rankings. Student outcomes, the site says, are also important. Bridgeport High School finished with a A- ranking, which is the same ranking the three schools above Bridgeport received rankings of either and A or B Academics in the following areas: Administration and Policies; Educational Outcomes; Extracurriculars; Health and Safety; Resources and Facilities; Sports and  Fitness; and teachers. The school received a C in Student Culture and Diversity and Food.
