Bridgeport Police are currently investigating a string of vehicles that had property stolen from them Tuesday evening, according to PFC Bart Sayers.

Sayers said the investigation is ongoing into the matter where vehicles had items taken from the on Carriage Lane and Garden Circle. No other areas, at this time, have had items reported stolen, according to Sayers. Rivendell did not, as of earlier this morning, have any reported cases.

With Sayers and investigators currently looking into the case, he wasn’t sure as to the exact number of vehicles. He said there are at least five and potentially as many as seven.

“All of the vehicles in question were unlocked. There was no forced entry or damage to the outside of any vehicle or no windows broken out,” said Sayers.

Residents, according to a Nixle alert sent out by the city, are being asked to lock their vehicles. For those noticing suspicious activity in the days ahead, police are asking those individuals to call 911. Individuals that may have noticed anything suspicious last night are asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department at 304-842-8260.

“I’ve been finishing up getting vehicle information from those that were hit. The investigators are out checking with homes that may have video surveillance cameras to help in the investigation,” said Sayers.

Sayers is also asking for residents in and around the areas mentioned above to please check their vehicles. In the event they notice something missing, they are asked to contact police.
