Bridgeport emergency service personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident just off of Saltwell Road late Tuesday morning in an incident that, fortunately, didn’t result any serious injuries.

According to Bridgeport Fire Chief Phil Hart there were no medical transports as the result of the two vehicle accident near the Saltwell Road intersection with Route 707. Route 707 is the roadway just off of Jerry Dove Drive that is prior to the entrance to the FBI.

The city’s fire department, emergency squad and the police department all responded to the call. The 911 call went out at 11:11 a.m. Personnel on the fire side of the equation responded from the substation on Jerry Dove Drive as well as from the station situated on Main Street.

Once there, officials observed two trucks that had collided with what appeared to be – at least superficially – limited damage.

Two trucks were involved. A female and two children were in a white Ford F-150, while one male driver was in a dark gray Chevrolet Silverado.

“We checked for injuries on all parties involved and they refused treatment and transport,” said Hart. “They all appeared to be in pretty good shape.”

Traffic was backed up for nearly 15 minutes in one lane along Route 707 before police began directing vehicles that were in the same lane as the accident around it. Eventually, the cars were cleared and traffic resumed at a regular flow.

The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation.
