Bridgeport Police have identified a pair of individuals responsible for an early-morning break-in of a Main Street business, as well as the vandalizing of a pair of vehicles and a city residence earlier this week.

According to Police Chief John Walker, the Main Street Shop ‘n Save was broken into at 3:21 a.m. on Thursday, May 25. Walker said that numerous tobacco products and toys were stolen once law enforcement responded to the scene.

After that, Walker said police learned of the cars and home that were vandalized.

“Within the following 12 hours, officers identified two juvenile suspects,” Walker said.

Items stolen from Shop ‘n Save were recovered. The damage done during the vandalizing doesn’t appear to be as easy as a fix.

“Damage estimates caused by these two juveniles are estimated to be in the thousands,” said Walker.

Criminal charges, including breaking and entering, are pending against the juveniles.
