Despite Car Coming to Rest on Side in Two-Vehicle Wreck on I-79, No Medical Transports Required

By Jeff Toquinto on June 23, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

A two-car accident on Interstate 79’s southbound lane just prior to the Route 50 exit slowed traffic to a crawl in an area where traffic is already problematic. The good news is that despite the nature of the accident no one was injured.

The call for a vehicle injury with entrapment went out at 2:20 p.m. Although Bridgeport Fire responded to the call, the scene was maintained and addressed by the Clarksburg Fire Department as it was in the city limits of Clarksburg near the 119 mile marker.

The accident saw a white, four-door Chevrolet Trax end up lying on its side in the far right lane. Also involved was a dark blue/black Audi. The vehicle was much less worse for the wear as most of the damage to the vehicle was confined to the driver side rear of the vehicle.

According to a Clarksburg Fire official, no one was injured in either vehicle and transport was refused. The fire official said the female driver of the Trax climbed out of the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency services to the scene.

Along with the Bridgeport and Clarksburg Fire Departments, the Clarksburg Police, the West Virginia State Police, and the Harrison County EMS responded to the scene. Clarksburg Police were handling the investigation.
