Developer of Market Place at Bridgeport Announces Plans for New Building to House Multiple Businesses

Bridgeport’s newest development area continues to see growth and that should be good news for the city and for the developer.
 
According to David Biafora, the head of Metro Property Management handling the development of the Market Place at Bridgeport, construction will be starting soon on yet another building at the site situated just past the entrance to White Oaks.
 
“We’ll be constructing a 5,000 square foot building. We’re very close to picking up the permit for that from the city and everything will be ready to go,” said Biafora.
 
This will be the fourth building on the site and the third that is located within the municipal limits of Bridgeport. In March, of this year Biafora announced the construction of a 14,000 square foot building costing $2.5 million.
 
One tenant has already agreed to occupy space in the structure. Percheron, previously located at White Oaks for seven years, deals with infrastructure in the oil and gas industry. The move was to facilitate a bit of a downsizing, a company official said in March.
 
Biafora said they do not have anyone that has signed a lease for the new building that will soon see construction start. However, he did say it has some amenities that could signal perhaps a financial institution. However, he insisted there was nothing definitive.
 
“It’s a one-story structure with two drive-ups on the side. It can hold more than one business as needed,” said Biafora. “The location of the building is easy to find. It’s right next to the sign at the entrance that says a new building is coming.”
 
This will mark the third building that will have office space. The other building, which is located outside of the city limits, houses several businesses including the restaurant Don Patron. Last week, Biafora announced that Dock to Table, a local company that provides fresh seafood, will have their first brick and mortar location in the building. Plans are for it to be open before the end of the year.
 
Biafora also did not have a cost on the structure. However, based on the price of the previous
