Drug Bust of Main Street Doctor's Office Results in Dozens of Documents, Other Evidence Seized and Removed

By Jeff Toquinto on June 27, 2013 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The Bridgeport Police were among several law enforcement agencies involved in what local law enforcement officials said was a drug bust of a local doctor’s office on Main Street.

The office that was being raided saw dozens of boxes being removed and loaded onto vehicles by Bridgeport Police officers and members of the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force. Other law enforcement officials were also on the scene and confirmed that the items being removed under a federal search warrant were from the office of Dr. Edita P. Milan, MD on West Main Street. Milan’s office is across the street from the Bridgeport Dairy Queen in the back of the Bridgeport Municipal Parking Lot. It is located in the Exemplar Medical Building.

Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker was on the scene. He confirmed that it was a federal matter. He said that requests for further information needed to go through the office of United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.

Ihlenfeld’s office said there was no information available due to the investigation taking place under seal. Because of that, it’s not known what the nature of the documents and evidence removal involved or who it involved.

Further information, if it becomes available, will be posted on Connect-Bridgeport.com.
