Early Afternoon Accident off Bridgeport's Main Street Sends Two Individuals to United Hospital Center

A two-vehicle accident just off of Bridgeport’s Main Street section of U.S. Route 50 this afternoon resulted in two individuals being transported to United Hospital Center, according to staff from the Bridgeport Fire Department.
 
The accident took place just after noon – at 12:16 p.m. – in the parking lot of the Home Depot Plaza. The collision occurred just past the main entrance.
 
A silver Hyundai Elantra and a Black Dodge Durango were the vehicles involved. Damage was sustained to the front end of both vehicles. The damage did not appear to disable either vehicle.
 
According to Bridgeport Police Officer M.P. Hammond two passengers in the Durango were transported. The driver of the Elantra signed off on transport.
 
Hammond and Bridgeport fire personnel both said the injuries were non-life threatening. The Bridgeport Police are investigating the incident. Hammond said citations were pending.
 
The accident did not disrupt traffic flow through the shopping facility.
