PFC L.D. Janssen is handling the investigation, said Hartley.

The call came in to the Harrison County 911 at 4:05 p.m. for a vehicle accident with injury. According to a witness, Gordon was driving a four door red Ford Taurus down Lodgeville Road toward Johnson Avenue. The female witness said the car was passing other cars at a high rate of speed before losing control on the opposite of the road, spinning out and coming to rest just prior to the Lodgeville Road bridge.

The child in question was transported from the scene by the Anmoore Emergency Squad. A member of the Bridgeport Fire Department said the injuries were not life threatening and the transport was for “precautionary reasons” more than anything else. Emergency personnel believed the child to be around three years of age.

Air bag deployment could be seen throughout the vehicle.

The female was visually combative as she was taken into custody and several officers had to restrain her. She was eventually removed from the vehicle and put into another police vehicle for transport.

Traffic was slightly backed up due to the incident. However, Bridgeport Police and Fire personnel were handling the flow and it wasn’t backed up too far in either direction.

Along with Anmoore, Bridgeport and Fire, the Bridgeport EMS was also on hand. Check back to Connect-Bridgeport if, and when, additional details become available.
