For those Seeking Perfect BHS Christmas Gift, Principal Mark DeFazio May Have What You Need

You’ve probably got a red article of clothing with a Bridgeport High School logo on it. And chances are good you may have one that’s black or grey as well.

Bridgeport High School Principal Mark DeFazio believes a lot of people probably don’t have a white piece of clothing in their wardrobe. He’s more certain, however, that fans for Bridgeport High School – and in particular the football team – don’t have a white football state championship t-shirt from 2014.

“It’s a white crew neck sweatshirt with a state title design on it that’s fairly simple, but attractive,” said DeFazio. “We thought we’d go a little different and go with the white since the school has had shirts in every other color with the exception of white. Hopefully, people will like the new look and opt to purchase one.”

The crewneck shirts are white with red lettering. The “Back to Back” theme is the dominate theme of the logo on the front.

The shirts are available by going to the school on Johnson Avenue during school hours. They can be purchased for $30. DeFazio said they can also be picked up during upcoming basketball games, including tonight’s BHS girls’ game with Robert C. Byrd and tomorrow’s boys’ opening game with Liberty.

“If someone finds me at the games the next two nights I’ll be glad to get them a sweatshirt for them to purchase,” said DeFazio. “We hope that some of the people in the community will find them as nice Christmas gifts.”

The shirts will be available well after Christmas too.

DeFazio said he doesn’t anticipate the selling of the shirts to be a huge money maker. However, he said after the bill is paid for the shirts that have been purchased, all proceeds will be earmarked for a key area of need.

“We’ll put any money we make off of this toward the turf replacement project. Every little bit we get will certainly help in completing that project once it comes time to begin,” said DeFazio.
