By Jeff Toquinto on July 01, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

It’s that time of the year. And once again, it’s a chance for local residents to give some of their local businesses and their area some positive publicity.

Recently, the third annual Best of West Virginia contest done by WV Living Magazine began and several businesses and individuals from Bridgeport have been nominated for awards.

More than 40 categories are included in this year’s contest. Once the voting is done online, the magazine will reveal the winners in their Fall 2015 magazine.

So who is part of the process from Bridgeport?

Under the category of “Best Chef,” Bridgeport’s Anne Hart is listed. Hart runs The Provence Market Cafe on Virginia Avenue. Under category of “Best Media Personality,” WBOY’s Gretchen Ross is listed. Ross is a member of the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club.

Although just outside the Bridgeport municipal limits, the Pete Dye Golf Club is listed in the competition as being from Bridgeport. The club falls under the category “Best Place to Play Golf.” The Pete Dye Golf Club is situated in Meadowbrook, just off Meadowbrook Road.

The final choice involving Bridgeport is a business-related choice. Although still a relatively new operation, Mia Margherita is among the five choices for “Best Pizza.” Mia Margherita, operated by Bridgeport’s Scott Duarte of CP Hospitality, is located at Charles Pointe.
