It's Here: 2014 Bridgeport High School Indians Pre-Game Football Video

By Jeff Toquinto on August 29, 2014 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

When you’ve done videos for national companies such a Red Bull, regional entities such as WISP and multi-million dollar medical companies among others, it may seem unlikely that the person responsible for that would get pumped up to do a pre-game high school football production. Then again, most people aren’t Luke Nesler.

For Nesler, producing the pre-game video sponsored by Stephanie Hayhurst Hall's State Farm Insurance Agency titled “7,” in honor of the Indians tradition and seventh state championship earned last year, was a labor of love. And considering that he not only is a former member of the BHS football team, but had current coach Josh Nicewarner as one of his assistants, it probably comes as no surprise.

“When I was asked to do this by Connect-Bridgeport I was really excited,” said Nesler, who operates the Morgantown-based Impakt Marketing. “By the nature of my business, I love doing film projects. At the same time, this is easily among the top three most important during my professional career.”

Considering he’s shot for several years and has had projects with significantly higher budgets, that may see a bit of a stretch. Nesler, however, said there’s a reason for it.

“I was born and raised in the Bridgeport High School environment and went through high school in the football environment,” said Nesler. “To be able to use my professional career to do something that will get the team fired up, get the crowed fired up and have the students enjoy it on top of everything else means the world to me.”

Nesler's two-minute video was shown during a private video session Wednesday evening to coaches, players and BHS Cheer Coach Emilee Stout and a few other guests in the Indians’ locker room. The reason for the players seeing it is that they’ll be in the tunnel or locker room when the video comes on the big board.

Nesler said the impression he got that it was well received. He said the message, along with firing up the crowd, was told from a football point of view.

“What I wanted it to capture was the emotion of what goes on in a locker room before the student athletes go out on the field and to also capture what type of journey the students had last year being back in a state championship game,” said Nesler. “Ultimately, you want the crowd to get hyped up with the kids that are back this year. To meet those goals I used all of our tools available in the production and I’m happy with how it turned out.”
