Jackson Kelly Executive Director: Nothing "Finalized" on Potential Move to White Oaks Development

By Jeff Toquinto on April 26, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Whether the White Oaks business park officially lands another major law firm to the development along Interstate 79 remains to be bee seen, according to the executive director for that company in question.

James “Jim” Lowen, the Executive Director for Jackson Kelly LLC, said nothing has been finalized at this point. When asked if something was in the works, he wouldn’t elaborate.

“It would be premature to speak at this time as the deal isn’t finalized,” said Lowen, who did acknowledge the firm is looking there.

White Oak Developer Woody Thrasher, who was joined by fellow developer Jack Keeley at a Bridgeport City Council work session recently to update the city’s governing body on activity at the site, told those on hand that Jackson Kelly was locating there. The issue was mentioned briefly in stories on the meeting by Connect-Bridgeport and The Exponent Telegram

Due to Lowen not wanting to speak on the matter, Connect-Bridgeport couldn’t confirm if it would be closing its downtown Clarksburg location. Currently, Jackson Kelly has an office on Main Street in that city, on the opposite side of the street from the Clarksburg City Building.

An official with White Oaks said Jackson Kelly’s space – if the move goes forward – would be in Progress Centre Building I. The space in question was formerly held by the Mitre Corporation, which has moved to additional space in the Progress Centre II building.

“The space is Class A office space,” the White Oaks official said.

According to its Web site, “Jackson Kelly PLLC is a national law firm with more than 200 attorneys located in twelve offices throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado and the District of Columbia. Focusing on clients' industry-specific needs, the Firm serves a wide variety of corporate and public clients and enjoys a national reputation in business, labor and employment, litigation, government contracts, tax, safety and health, permitting, natural resource and environmental law.”
