It’s a new business in a familiar location. And it’s a well-known product housed just up the roadway where the product was previously located.

 

Recently, Main Street became home to a new business on the site known to most as the former location of Belasco Home Sales. New Beginnings is now open to the public and will exclusively be offering Dura-Built structures for storage, small offices, a garage and various other uses.

 

“We opened this location during the last part of March,” said Wanda Kooken, who will operate the business along with her front door greeter Barley, a sweet black Labrador. “We’re hoping that we’ll do well and having a quality product should help out.”

 

Kooken is no stranger to the product. She previously dealt with Dura-Built during her time at the Tom Davis Garden Center, which is no longer is business after Davis recently passed away and was situated only a few hundred yards down the roadway. Kooken said Davis, a near life-long friend, was also her companion during the past four years and she learned about the product extremely well while there and working with Tom.

 

“The name New Beginnings is a tribute to Tom. I think he would want to see me keep this going,” she said. “I also think, in a way, this lets him live on.”

 

The location is behind the AutoZone and Advance Auto right off of Main Street – U.S. Route 50. There is a large grand opening sign near the entrance, on U.S. Route 50 East.

 

For those interested in the product, the business is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Inquiries can be made in person or by calling 304-695-1201. The business offers the option of buying or renting.
