A Monday afternoon wreck along Jerry Dove Drive took place in a somewhat familiar area known for fender benders. Fortunately, according to Bridgeport Police there were no serious injuries.

The call went out at 4:16 p.m. yesterday to Jerry Dove Drive – State Route 279 – near the Interstate 79 southbound off ramp. Two vehicles were involved in a rear-end type of collision. Damage, a Bridgeport officer said, was minimal.

There were three passengers in the two cars. All three refused transportation to nearby United Hospital Center.

Most of the damage was to the front end of a silver Toyota Corolla. The back end of a gray Chrysler 200 had minimal damage. There were two passengers in the Toyota.

Bridgeport Police weren’t the only responders on the scene. The Bridgeport Fire Department and EMS also responded to the call, but were sent back into the station when it was determined they weren’t needed and the operators of the vehicle opted out of medical transport.

There was little to no traffic issues as result of the incident. The Bridgeport Police are investigating.
