New Business Serving Bridgeport, Clarksburg to have Key Focus on Convenience with Delivery Service

By Jeff Toquinto on February 18, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

There’s a new business in Bridgeport as well as Clarksburg. Actually, the new business is coming to your doorstep.

For those who put a premium on their time, or for those who worry about getting certain items or for those who have a myriad of reasons not to be able to pick up something they need, Michael Tomko has the answer for you. The answer officially began Thursday.

Tomko’s new business, My Store 2 Door, officially got started earlier this week. Tomko, who got his business license Feb. 9 in Bridgeport, believes he can take the stress out of the day for many and provide some much needed convenience for all.

So what does the new business entail?

“We realized that the speed life is moving faster than ever and people are pulled in so many directions. One of the opportunities we saw that we could fulfill to make things easier is our business,” said Tomko. “For those not having the convenience to go out and pick up items that they may to help save their time in the day, we’ll do it for you.”

Need groceries picked up? That can be done. In the middle of a project and need some items from a hardware store to be at your front door within a couple of hours? Done. Have a desire for a nice meal from a restaurant that doesn’t deliver and would like to have someone bring it to you? Again, it’s done.

The applications for My Store 2 Door are somewhat limitless. Tomko did say that he will not pick up alcohol, tobacco or prescription medication.

While it’s a new business locally, it’s not new for Tomko.

“I lived for many years in New Jersey and we had a similar delivery service. This is the same concept in theory, but the picture is different because in New Jersey it was a different type of industry and a huge need that we believe this will see us meeting needs in a different manner,” said Tomko. “The goal of providing quality service in an efficient manner remains the same.”

Tomko left that business 12 years ago and his other job with New Jersey Commerce (Department) when he retired and came to West Virginia. Since then, he’s ran another on-line business and decided that the same service he offered before would be useful in his still relatively new home state and region.

So how much does it cost?

For the cost of $15, you can receive the delivery of groceries, office supplies, household needs and just about anything else with a maximum weight of 150 pounds with no single item weighing more than 40 pounds. The delivery location must be within 10 miles of pick-up location.

For items exceeding that weight and other issues, a surcharge will be added.

Tomko added for those worried about perishable food items that they’ll have that covered as well. Refrigerated items are transported in cooler box to ensure items arrive cool and fresh from himself or another staff member that will have their My Store 2 Door ID badge on them.

So how do you take advantage of the new service?

The first step after placing an order with any cooperating business in the Bridgeport and Clarksburg area from either your home or office is to go to the Web site www.mystore2door.com. On the home page is a pick-up and delivery form. After filling it out, pay the on-line fee at the checkout and you’re good to go and if the order is placed by the correct time you will have it within two hours. The Web site allows you to pick a preferred pickup and delivery time as well.

“You can order from Kroger, Target, and Wal Mart and will take it to your door and save you the hassle and stress and give you the convenience,” he said.

The business will start out with two vehicles, but is built to easily expand. Tomko hopes to expand as far north as Morgantown.

The Web site lists hours from 9 a.m. 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no business on Sunday, but orders can still be placed.

“I believe what we’re offering is a blessing for those that are stretched in many directions or simply can’t get to what they need. Of course, with any business, the goal is to be profitable, but we see this as helping out that mother with two kids that is running between multiple locations and others just like that,” said Tomko.

Additional details can also be found on the Web site. Individuals who aren’t sure about the process can also call 304-844-6537.
