Another business at White Oaks has opened its doors. And this one should give its customers some serious hands-on (as well as feet) attention.

 

On Nov. 15, Elegant Nails became the latest business to begin doing business at the sprawling development just off of Jerry Dove Drive and Interstate 79. The business is located in the Retail Plaza II building beside Starbucks and, according to the city permit, covers 1,320 square feet.

                         

According to owner and operator Steven Duong, this is the only Elegant Nails doing business. However, it’s not his first time running a salon that focuses on manicures and pedicure as the name suggests.

 

“I was previously in Beckley and sold that shop after my daughter graduated from high school and planned on going to (West Virginia University),” said Duong. “I wanted to be closer to the area and found this location. The only thing that didn’t work out was my daughter had a last minute change of mind and went to the University of Georgia.”

 

Even with that change, Duong is pleased with the new location. He’s hoping to let more members of the community know he’s ready for business and ready to serve those looking for their fingers and toes to look their best regardless of the season.

 

“So far, the business is doing okay,” he said. “What I’m really happy about is just how nice the people are here. I really love the people here.”

 

He’s hoping the people will love his work and that of his staff, which totals three. He honed his work in West Virginia after operating in Beckley since 2007, or roughly 11 years. However, his work in the Mountain State isn’t the only work on his resume.

 

“I’ve actually been doing this for more than 20 years,” said Duong. “I had a shop in Alabama and a shop in Georgia before coming to West Virginia. I’m hoping for the same success here.”

 

For those looking to utilize the services of Elegant Nails, they are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business is closed on Mondays.
