It has been roughly a month since Bridgeport’s newest business officially opened its doors. So far, things could not be going better.

 

“Things are going great. We’ve been welcomed by the community and now we’re at the point where we’re looking to advertise what we offer. We wanted to do a soft opening, and everything went smooth with the transition,” said Melissa Phillips.

 

Phillips, by the way, is the practice manager for Spectrum Optical that has set up shop at the White Oaks development. This is there second location as their home base is in Morgantown.

 

“We chose Bridgeport because it meets the needs of our patients. We have patients driving to Morgantown from Elkins and Buckhannon,” said Phillips. “Dr. Cindy is from Bridgeport and has a large following so that played into the decision as well.”

 

Dr. Cindy is Cindy Zwolensky. She is one of six doctors rotating between the two locations, but Zwolensky will be the primary optical care provider in Bridgeport.

 

“We’ve reached our capacity,” said Phillips. “We’ve also hired two new providers. It was time to make the move and Bridgeport proved to be the right location.”

 

The business officially opened Sept. 7.  It is located at 45 Professional Place, Suite 200 in White Oaks – right behind iHop and the Comfort Inn.

 

As one might expect, Spectrum Optical offers comprehensive optical services including standard eye exams, diabetic eye exams, follow-up from cataract surgery, glaucoma management, myopia management, contact lens services, glasses, and pretty much all of your eyecare needs, said Phillips.

 

Along with Zwolensky, the rest of the doctors on staff include Dr. Richard Goellner; Dr. James Seese; Dr. Jordan Hamric; Dr. Tyler Kerr; and Dr. Ryan Alpino. There are 43 staff members under the Spectrum umbrella and Phillips said roughly six to seven will be in Bridgeport at any time.

 

The hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Bridgeport office phone number is 304-842-3939.

 

The office is currently accepting new patients. Phillips said walk-ins are welcome.
