They are not new to White Oaks, but one of the most high-profile tenants is investing heavily in their property at the development, according to Bridgeport Community Development Director Andrea Kerr.

Kerr recently told members of the Bridgeport Development Authority that Antero was doing massive renovations to both of their buildings situated off of White Oaks Boulevard. In fact, the renovations are in the seven figures.

According to Kerr, Antero building one at White Oaks had a permit pulled for $1 million in upgrades. Antero building two had a permit issued to it for $1.7 million.

Work actually began late last year. High Point Construction is the contractor doing the work.

“It’s a slow-moving project that’s had some hiccups,” Kerr told the Authority. “They are about 80 percent complete. By the middle of summer, they should be finished with their renovation.”

Kerr said the upgrades will make the buildings more functional. And at $2.7 million, the upgrades are substantial and cover a little bit of everything. Kerr explained some of the work being done.

“They have restrooms that weren’t big enough for the size of their staff so they’re renovating all of their bathrooms,” said Kerr. “Their conference space is way too small, so they were taking out some offices to make the conference room bigger.

“There were also some offices that were too big that they’re cutting half to put two people in,” said Kerr. “They’re really renovating to try and fit their needs right now.”

Other items are also being upgraded or replaced. Kerr said they were also changing out all of the windows in their buildings.
