Photos: Song and Softball Dominate Early Portion of Wednesday's Bridgeport City Council Meeting

Along with official business handled by Bridgeport City Council during Wednesday's meeting (moved due to Memorial Day), there were plenty of other items. Two issues involved proclamations being presented by Bridgeport Mayor Robert "Bob" Greer.

Greer first recognized the contributions of Sarah Carr for her work with the Chanticleer Children’s Choir. Carr will soon be stepping aside from those chores after decades of dedication.

Immediately following the presentation Wednesday from Greer, members of her choir perofrmed for those gathered. The group sang a rendition of the song “Home Among the Hills" and received a standing ovation upon completion.

A second standing ovation came after Greer presented a proclamation to the Bridgeport Middle School softball team. The Braves recently won the Harrison County championship and finished the year unbeaten. Coaches Billy Estok and Vernon Louk offered comments for their team's efforts this season.

Below are photos from the event. Feel free to share them on any social media component.
