Roughly eight months ago, a restaurant that had been in place for three years at the Meadowbrook Mall ceased operations. When closing, the owners of the business hinted they may re-open in a new location.

 

As it turns out, the message on their Facebook page wasn’t hyperbole. In the future, the restaurant in question will do exactly as was hinted.

 

Miskycha (pronounced miss-KEY-kuh) will be opening its doors. The new business will be situated at Charles Point in the same building the is home to Mia Margherita, Fire House Sub, Bridgeport Family Pharmacy and more.

 

The name isn’t the only thing that is unique. The offerings it had at the mall and likely bringing to their new location is also not standard fare.

 

While many restaurants claim to have a unique menu or a specialty niche, this one easily could back that up. The restaurant featured squeezed juices, such as papaya, strawberry, mango, passion fruit, purple corn and many other varieties. The restaurant also served pork and roast beef sandwiches, fruit salads and Peruvian appetizers, like empanadas and papa rellena. Expect to see that at the new location in Bridgeport.

 

“I think it’s a great get,” said Chris Wilbert, an associate for Premier Commercial Real Estate. “They’ve been in business before and they recognize this location is beneficial for them and it’s also beneficial for us.”

 

Wilbert said he’s read previous reviews that came from their Meadowbrook Mall Food Court site that opened in January of 2016 before shutting down in late April of this year. He said all signs pointed to a quality business that had established itself.

 

“We’re certainly glad to have them in that location,” said Wilbert.

 

The opening date isn’t set, but Wilbert said it should be within the next 45 days. The building will occupy 1,533 square feet and will offer dine in and take out options.

 

It is in the former Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt location, which means the space is already set up for food service. The building permit lists a build out of $15,000.
