Sunday Evening Route 50, Emily Drive Intersection Wreck Involves Three Vehicles, Medical Transport

The intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Emily Drive was once again the site of an accident; this one Sunday evening and involving multiple vehicles.
 
According to the Harrison County 911 log, multiple emergency service agencies responded to a call at 9:24 p.m. on West Main Street in Bridgeport. That address for the Route 50 and Emily Drive intersection.
 
Bridgeport Fire Department Chief Phil Hart said the accident saw three vehicles involved. According to Hart, only one individual was transported for medical treatment, while others signed off on receiving treatment. Hart added that the injuries were not life threatening.
 
Along with the Bridgeport Fire Department, the Bridgeport EMS and the Bridgeport Police responded to the call. The EMS branch of the city fire department handled the transport, Hart said. The Anmoore EMS was also on the scene to handle additional transports if needed.
 
“Fortunately, there wasn’t a need for additional transports to (United Hospital Center) or any other medical facility,” said Hart. “We’ve seen our share of accidents there.”
 
Captain Rick Todd handled the matter for the Bridgeport Fire Department. The Bridgeport Police were tasked with investigating the accident.
 
There was minor traffic issues as a result of the wreck. Emergency service personnel helped alleviate those issues.
