Suspect Being Sought in Case at City Business as Truck Strikes Another Vehicle and Leaves the Scene

Anyone that has returned to their vehicle after making a stop at a business only to find it’s been struck – and no note left by the person that struck it – knows the frustration all too well. Now, however, there’s a chance someone in the Bridgeport community or beyond can assist in providing a small bit of justice in one of those cases.

According to Bridgeport Police Department PFC Bart Sayers, a case he’s working on that fits the above description may be able to be solved. In order for that to happen, he’s going to need help from the public.

Sayers said the situation took place last week in a business in Bridgeport. He has a surveillance video that he believes may help for the car that was struck on December 8 around 11:22 a.m.

“I am working a case involving a vehicle that was struck while it was parked in the parking lot of T&L Hot Dogs. I was able to use surveillance footage to view a possible suspect vehicle,” said Sayers.

The vehicle being sought appears to be a white pickup truck of an unknown make or model. The truck has two long tool boxes down each side of the bed.

“You can tell by the picture, (the truck) is barely in the frame, why it’s difficult to identify. I would like to speak to the driver or owner of the truck,” said Sayers.

Sayers is asking anyone that may recognize the truck or has any information on the matter to contact him. He can be reached at 304-848-6125 or email at csayers@bridgeportwv.com. If he does not answer the phone, he is asking individuals to leave a message.

“It goes without saying the public has been amazing in helping us with various cases. We can’t thank them enough,” said Sayers.
