The Bridgeport Fire Department sent several units to respond to a three-vehicle accident this afternoon just outside the city limits in an area that has been plagued with accidents for years. Fortunately, according to Fire Chief Phil Hart no one was injured.

Initially, the call was reported on Platinum Drive, which is in Bridgeport. However, the accident took place on U.S. Route 50 East and involved three vehicles – all trucks. The call into the Harrison County 911 center was at 1:51 p.m.

Two white Dodge Rams and a small blue Ford F-150 were involved in the accident. The F-150 was sandwiched between the Dodge Rams. All three of the vehicles were in the left of the two lanes heading east.

Hart said individuals in all three cars refused transport for medical treatment. The two Dodge Rams pulled into the Wendy’s Restaurant in Bridgeport, which is just off Platinum Drive.

The Clarksburg Police Department is investigating the incident, which took place in their jurisdiction. The Anmoore Emergency Squad was also on the scene along with the Clarksburg Fire Department.

Traffic was interrupted, but was not severely impacted. By 2:15 p.m. all vehicles were gone from the scene and traffic was back to normal.
