Three individuals from Bridgeport, including one allegedly involved with drugs, were indicted as part of the May 2016 term of the Harrison County Grand Jury under the direction of Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney Rachel Romano. The grand jury wrapped up work Tuesday with 63 indictments.

Heather Maria Burton, 34, of Bridgeport was the individual indicted on a pair of counts relating to drugs. Burton was indicted on one count of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Also indicted was 31-year-old city resident Joseph Michael Moore on one count of fleeing in a vehicle showing a reckless indifference to the safety of others. The other indictment involved 39-year-old John David Wagner who was indicted on one count of third or subsequent offense domestic battery.

Although from Anmoore, Johnny Ray Sprouse of Anmoore was indicted on one count of grand larceny. Sprouse was caught by Bridgeport Police after allegedly robbing the Route 50 Lounge in the city in August of 2015. The 61-year-old Sprouse was caught in Clarksburg by Bridgeport detectives. He was indicted on grand larceny charges.

“I think (the grand jury) was very efficient and thoughtful in their process as well. They listened to the courts instruction on what they were supposed to do and didn’t waste any time in getting started,” said Romano. “I’d say it was just a little bit faster of a process than usual, but pretty close to normal from a time standpoint.”

Among the high-profile cases was an indictment returned against 37-year-old Raymond Thomas McIntire. He was indicted on multiple counts – one count of second degree sexual assault; five counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guarding or custodian; five counts incest; and four counts first degree sexual assault.

The session ended prior to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Harrison County Circuit Judge James Matish presided over the grand jury.
