An area that has seen several accidents in recent years saw another this afternoon that sent two individuals to the hospital. However, according to Bridgeport Fire Lt. Richard McGuire the injuries that led to the transport do not appear to be life threatening.

The accident involved a blue Nissan Versa and a motorcycle, which was a Yamaha. The accident took place on South Virginia Avenue near the intersection with Foley Street and the road beside the United States Post Office that leads down to the Valley Hills Shopping Plaza.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene after the call went out on Harrison County 911 at 4:03 p.m. Bridgeport Police, Bridgeport Fire and the Anmoore EMS responded to the scene.

The passenger in the front of the Versa was transported. The driver of the motorcycle was also transported.

Bridgeport Police are investigating the case. Lt. Doug Betler said that Officer C. Golden was in charge of the investigation.

Due to the location of the wreck on Virginia Avenue, traffic was being rerouted. Foley Street was serving as the primary relocation route, while access to Virginia Avenue off of Route 50 was cut off as the scene was cleared.
