An early afternoon accident along State Route 131 near the entrance to the North Central West Virginia Airport and North Central Distributors left two vehicles out of commission.
Fortunately, according to a member of the Bridgeport Fire Department, no one was injured. Those involved refused transport to any local medical facility.

The accident was called into the Harrison County 911 center at 12:23 p.m. Bridgeport Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene.

The cars involved were a black Ford F-150 truck and a yellow Pontiac G5. The F-150 ended up stuck in a ditch near the entrance to the airport, while the front end of the Pontiac was damaged significantly. The impact was hard enough deploy the G5’s airbag.

Traffic was backed up in both directions shortly after the accident. However, after the scene was secured fire personnel were directing traffic through one open lane. Backups after that were minimal at best.

An immediate cause to the accident was unknown. The Bridgeport Police are investigating the accident.
