Two Vehicles Involved in Felony Larceny Case at City Park; Bridgeport Police Hoping Public Can ID Them

A recent trip to Bridgeport City Park for what was likely for some relaxation and enjoyment turned sour for at least one person. During their weekend visit to the heavily utilized facility, a guitar valued at $2,200 was stolen off of a picnic table.

Bridgeport Police Officer J.M. Holley said the incident took place in the late afternoon hours on Saturday, July 1. He said at approximately 5 p.m. the guitar in question was stolen.

The bad news is that the police currently aren’t sure who took the guitar. The good news is that recently installed city surveillance cameras have some images that could prove to be helpful.

“It appeared in video surveillance there were white males and two white females involved. I am requesting that anyone with information on who may own or drive these vehicles please contact me so I can attempted to locate them and bring them in for questioning,” said Holley.

The larceny investigation could get a boost if the public recognizes one, or both, of the vehicles that Holley believes were involved in the incident. The images, which he described as being grainy, didn’t allow for Holley to get a registration from the vehicle. However, he said both appear to have West Virginia registrations.

As for the mode of transportion utilized by the perpetrators, Holley said he thinks he knows what type of vehicles were involved. One is a silver Dodge Journey, while the other he believes to be a black Dodge Ram four-door pickup. The female in the Dodge, Holley said, appears to have blue colored hair.

Holley is hoping someone will have some information or recognize the vehicles. Several city cases, and even several from other areas of the North Central part of the state, have been solved thanks to those following social media recognizing something in pictures released by law enforcement.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Holley at 304-848-6112. Leave a message if he is unavailable.
