An early afternoon wreck at the intersection of Lodgeville Road and U.S. Route 50 resulted in three individuals being transported to United Hospital Center for treatment, according to Bridgeport Fire Chief Phil Hart.

The wreck took place just prior to 1 p.m. as the call went out on the Harrison County 911 log at 12:58 p.m. Along with Bridgeport Fire and Bridgeport Police, the Anmoore EMS responded to the scene, as well as the Bridgeport EMS.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident turning right off of Lodgeville Road onto U.S. Route 50 East. A blue Ford Expedition hit the back end of a gray Nissan Altima. As for the cause of the accident, it's still under investigation.

According to Lt. M.J. Lemley, the investigation is being handled by Officer Kris Wariner. Wariner was recently sworn in as the newest member of the department.

All three transports were from the Altima, Hart said. The Chief also said that the injuries were not life threatening. Damage to the vehicles appeared to be contained to the front of the Expedition and the rear of the Altima.

Due to the area of the wreck and the number of cars that frequent the intersection, there were some minor traffic issues. Lemley was handling the traffic, which was running relatively smoothly prior to the vehicles leaving the scene.
