Do you have technology questions? The library has answers! Not only do we have books ranging from how to use your iPhone to how to code a website, but we also offer a plethora of tech-related services and programs. 

 

Technology help is available on “Tech Help Tuesday” every Tuesday from 12 PM to 4 PM. These sessions are for patrons who need a little bit of extra one-to-one help. It’s also for folks who are reluctant to use a computer, smartphone, tablet, or wearable device. These sessions are helpful for those who want to learn more about their personal device and how they can help them at home or work. Each month the library offers classes on a variety of technology-related topics. Our tech help classes are designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today's digital world. Some examples of classes we offer include self-publishing, basic computer skills for seniors, how to use an iPhone, essential technology skills for job seekers, easy email, and Microsoft Office applications. We also offer a Tech Help Blog that can be accessed from our bplwv.org website under the “Resources” tab or directly at bplwvtechhelp.wordpress.com. Each Tuesday and Friday, “Tech Wizard Mike” offers a technology help blog post with an accompanying how-to video. Some past blog post topics included: How to use Libby to read e-books and listen to audiobooks, how to set up a new smartphone, how to “sync” a smartphone with a computer, how to recognize computer “viruses” and other forms of malware, how to self-publish your book, how to back up your files, and word processing and document formatting.
