Bridgeport Remains at No. 2 in Latest MetroNews.Com Prep Football Rankings

While Bridgeport will likely move up slightly in the WVSSAC power rankings that will be released tomorrow, the Indians remained in the same position in the MetroNews.com poll. The 3-1 Tribe still come in at number two in the poll.
 
BHS trails undefeated Bluefield (3-0) in the poll. The Beavers have 22 first place votes, while Bridgeport has two first place votes. The final first place vote is held by number five Frankfort.
 
The Indians remained in the same position after last week’s impressive 31-7 win over rival Robert C. Byrd. The loss by the Eagles dropped them from the number six spot to number 10. The rest of the top five includes 2-1 Wayne at number three, 4-0 Mingo Central at number four and 4-0 Frankfort at number five.
 
Keyser, at 3-1, is a future Bridgeport opponent that is ranked in the top 10. They are currently number eight.
 
The Indians figure to be a prohibitive favorite against East Fairmont this Friday. It will mark the fourth of five home games the Indians have to start the season.
 
The poll is done by 25 radio broadcasters and sports writers from across West Virginia.

In the Charleston Daily Mail poll, which had Bridgeport ranked first last week along with Bluefield, there has been a change. In this week’s poll that was just released, the Indians are ranked number one with five first place votes and a total of 95 points, which was one point higher than Bluefield. The Beavers finished with five first place votes as well.
