The Bridgeport Indians regular season ended Friday with a 48-0 win against Philip Barbour. The postseason will begin this Friday against the same team the Indians began their regular season against.

It was announced today that, as expected, the Indians will begin their run at another state title against the Minutemen. What wasn’t known was that the time the Tribe will play.

BHS will face Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wayne Jamison Field according to Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Mark Jones. As the guest, the Minutemen had the choice of a 7:30 p.m. Friday game, a 1:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Saturday game as well.

LCHS, just 30 minutes away on Interstate 79, opted for the traditional Friday night slot.

Bridgeport finished the year at 9-1 and ranked No. 2 in Class AA. The Minutemen, No. 15, finished at 7-3.

The Tribe won the season-opening game by a 28-0 score.

The winner of Friday’s game will play the winner of the game between No. 7 Shady Spring and No. 10 Mingo Central.

Other local teams in the playoff field include No. 12 Liberty at No. 5 Keyser and No. 14 North Marion and No. 3 Poca. Top-ranked Fairmont Senior will play host to No. 16 Winfield.

In Class A, Doddridge County is the top seed. The Bulldogs will host No. 16 Madonna. South Harrison, at No. 15, will visit No. 2 Ritchie County.
