For those who don’t want the 2019 state championship season of the Bridgeport Indians to end, here’s a little something for you.

There will be one final edition of the John Cole Show with Travis Jones this evening from Mia Margherita. The show will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and, as expected, will focus heavily on Friday’s 21-14 Class AA state title win against Bluefield at Wheeling Island Stadium.

As always, the show will be live on 103.3 WAJR FM. Jones, the “Voice of the Indians,” said it will feature a lot of the same technical format listeners are used to and a whole lot more.

“We obviously won’t have to preview anything, but we’ll review the game from Friday. After that, things will be a bit different,” said Jones. “We’re going to get as many people involved with the win on the show as possible along with Coach Cole.”

What that means is a steady diet of the Bridgeport coaching staff. Jones said he anticipates the majority, if not all the staff, to be on hand. Jones said the senior football players will also be invited to take part in the show this evening.

“We’re looking for the reactions of those involved and the show is an opportunity to get the those who played a part in a championship a chance to say a few words,” said Jones. “In way, since there’s typically no formal celebration, this is an informal celebration.”

Jones said individuals are invited to attend and those the show area is usually filled and that an overflow crowd will be accommodated by Scott Duarte of Mia Margherita. He said the restaurant also runs a $10 pizza special during the show.

Once the show is over, take a break, take a pizza home and perhaps grab some popcorn. Starting this evening at 8:30 p.m. on AT&T Sports Net, the Class AA title game will be replayed for those who want to take it again. And it’s also a chance for those who want to save it to set their DVRs.

The show will feature Jones and Brad Howe calling the action with Joe Brocato on the sidelines.

The game will be shown one final time on AT&T Sports Net. The contest will have a second airing at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
