Indians-Eagles Round 2 Under Saturday Afternoon Sky as Opposed to Friday Night Lights

By Jeff Toquinto on November 16, 2014 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

As the host team for this weekend’s Class AA playoff quarterfinal round prep football playoff game, Bridgeport controls the location. And as everyone knows, the game will be played at Wayne Jamison Field.

The opponent, however, controls the day and time. This week’s opponent, Robert C. Byrd, has opted to play the game Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

The Class AA top-ranked Tribe will bring their 10-1 mark into the game. RCB counters with a 9-2 record. Bridgeport manhandled Liberty Raleigh by a 50-14 score Friday, while the Eagles steamrolled Keyser by a 38-14 score.

Bridgeport won the regular season contest by a 31-7 score. However, the game knotted up 7-7 at halftime. RCB is one of three teams that managed to score touchdowns in the first half against Bridgeport this year.

BHS and the Eagles are on a side of the Class AA bracket that will see the winner face the winner of No. 4 Mingo Central and No. 5 Wayne next week.

The only other local team remaining in Class AAA is No. 3 University. The Hawks will host South Charleston Friday at 7:30 p.m.
